1. Your First Step Is To Find A Scanning Company You'll Trust With Your Only Copy Of Slides, Negatives, And Photos
Before you hire a scanning company, make sure you're 100% comfortable with whoever is going to handle your family's slides, negatives, or photos.
So, before you commit ALL your scans, you're invited to scan a batch as a free test-run.
Even if you don't hire ScanCanada.ca, I recommend you get a small test batch scanned. Talking about "quality" is easy. But getting quality scans is quite difficult. If you've tried scanning your own, you know what I'm talking about.
This is a free service from ScanCanada.ca. And you're under no obligation. If you're not happy with your test-run, everything is returned to you, at no cost.
2. Yes! You're Ready To Go-Ahead With A Free Test-Run
This step is easy. Once you're ready, simply contact me here:

My name is Konrad, and I'll be glad to help you with any questions.
3. How To Organize Your Slides, Negatives, And Photos
I always appreciate it when customers take the time to organize their originals. I know, it's a big job. But the effort is worth it, because when you get your scans, they will be neatly organized and grouped.
For instance, say you have a batch of slides from a family summer trip. If you group and label those slides as, "Road Trip 1952", I'll name your digital files as, "RoadTrip52_001.jpg, RoadTrip52_002.jpg, etc".
This way you can easily find and access your digital images by keywords or tags.

4. Send Your Test-Run / Scanning Project To One Of Our 3 Locations
ScanCanada.ca has locations in Toronto, Calgary, and London. If you prefer, you may drop off your scanning project, anytime. Just contact me to arrange an appointment.
If you're shipping your originals, please refer back to the links you see above. If you follow these tips, I guarantee your originals will arrive safely.
You may send up to 50 originals. You may also send all of your scans, but I won't proceed until you've approved the test-run first.
Once your scanning project arrives, I'll email you a courtesy note letting you know they have arrived, and when I will start your scans.
5. You Get A Personal Download Page
When I start your scanning project, the first thing I'll do is upload your scans to my secure server.
You'll receive your own Personal Download Page, from which you can view and download your scans. I can also ship you a DVD of your test-run.
Take your time, and make sure you're 100% happy with the quality of your scans. Put your scans on your TV, or upload them to the net, or create a slide show. There's no rush.
Here's a sample page of what your Download Page will look like:

6. Assuming You Love Your Scans
If your test-run doesn't excite you to scan the rest, then no problem, everything can be returned to you. No cost or obligation.
If you're happy with the test-run, then you're more than welcome to send the rest. Or if you've sent all your scans, I'll continue with the rest.
7. What You Get When Your Scanning Project Is Complete
When your scans are complete, I will upload all your scans to your Personal Download Page. Your Personal Download Page will be live for 12 months. This way any family member can download the scans, no matter where they are. You may request to delete your page at anytime.
All your scans will be neatly saved on your DVD disc, by custom file and folder name.
Your DVD disc will be labeled as well, using LightScribe technology.
You also will get lifelong continued support. I still have customers from 5 years ago with questions about digital images. If you need any help with your digital images, feel free to contact me. I'll be happy to show you what you can do with your scans, and how to do it.
8. Turn-Around Time
How long does it take to scan?
Well, that depends. Since all scans are editing by a person, in Photo Shop, turn-around will vary.
But to give you an idea, 1000 scans will take 2 - 4 weeks. But hey, you waited this long. And I rather take my time, and make sure you get quality scans you'll enjoy viewing, rather than rush. Our focus is on quality, not speed.
9. Billing
When I complete your scans, I will ship your DVD disc first. You may also download all your scans from your Personal Download Page.
When you're 100% satisfied with your scans, then you will be sent an invoice. You'll be sent an email from Paypal to complete a secure transaction. You may also mail a cheque if you rather not use your credit card.
If you're picking up your scanning project, billing is due upon pickup.
.10. All Scanning Is Guaranteed 100%
At ScanCanada.ca, our focus is quality. I feel that if you're going digitally archive your originals, then you may as well do it right, the first time.
Know that your scans will be scanned and professionally edited by a person -- not by the scanner.
This attention to quality is why I can offer a 100% guarantee. I'm confident in our work, and I know you'll love your scans.
